This role supports an industrial manufacturing facility by performing maintenance, repair, and installation of production equipment and facility systems. The maintenance technician ensures machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime by executing timely repairs, conducting preventive and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on a wide range of industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform timely repairs on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations.
- Assemble parts and machinery components according to specifications and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery such as shredders, granulators, blowers, augers, and boilers to reduce and eliminate unplanned outages.
- Assist in keeping all equipment operational by identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and inspection tasks on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete facility work orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all tasks meet safety and quality standards.
- Maintain maximum reliability and functionality of machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery equipment, physical structures, pipes, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems within the facility.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic diagnostic methods, including reading schematics and ladder logic where applicable.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs by documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Perform construction and renovation work within the facility when necessary, including structural and equipment-related tasks.
- Complete daily work logs, maintenance forms, and documentation to record work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly and workspaces remain safe.
- Verify that equipment functions correctly after repairs, adjustments, or installations by performing tests and inspections.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize tasks and support overall plant performance.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment such as shredders, granulators, blowers, augers, and boilers.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and facility systems.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power and 480V industrial electrical backgrounds.
- Skill in motor wiring and maintenance of industrial motors.
- Ability to perform basic PLC troubleshooting, including resetting PLCs, working with trip drives, and interacting with HMI displays.
- Capability to read and interpret schematics and pull ladder logic for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Knowledge of basic hydraulics and mechanical functioning of industrial equipment.
- Experience with general maintenance repair tasks in an industrial environment.
- Ability to complete work orders, daily logs, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with proxy switches and related industrial sensing devices.
- Familiarity with PLC platforms, including exposure to Siemens systems.
- Basic fabrication skills to support equipment repair and modification.
- Welding experience, including arc welding and MIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for mechanical and structural work.
- Experience with pipe cutting and threading for facility and equipment piping.
- Additional hydraulics knowledge beyond basic operation and maintenance.
- Minor electrical knowledge to support troubleshooting and repair of facility electrical systems.
- Comfort working with industrial control systems, HMI displays, and ladder logic.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and safety.

Work Environment
The role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility originally built in the 1960s, featuring two levels with production lines operating on both floors. The environment is typical of heavy industrial operations and can be very hot during the summer months. The position follows a second-shift schedule, generally from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with current operations running 10-hour shifts. The standard schedule is planned for five days per week once fully staffed, although there may be periods requiring up to six days per week to meet production needs. You will work around large industrial machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulic equipment, using tools and diagnostic equipment suited for maintenance and repair tasks in a manufacturing setting. Proper work attire and adherence to safety practices are essential due to the industrial nature of the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
