About the Role:
The Armed Security Officer at JARS Grand Rapids, GR2, plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, clients, and visitors. This position involves the vigilant monitoring of premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, and any potential threats. The officer will respond promptly and effectively to incidents, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and legal regulations. By maintaining a visible security presence, the officer deters criminal activity and fosters a sense of safety within the facility. Ultimately, the role is essential in protecting assets and supporting the overall operational integrity of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued armed security officer license or certification as required by local regulations.
- Completion of mandatory firearms training and certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to stand or patrol for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in armed security or law enforcement roles.
- Additional certifications in first aid, CPR, or emergency response.
- Familiarity with advanced security technology and surveillance systems.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of the assigned premises to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Operate security equipment and surveillance systems to maintain continuous oversight of the property.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including coordinating with law enforcement when necessary.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to access control, visitor management, and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting daily activities, incidents, and any security breaches.
