Porter – Job Summary

The Porter is responsible for assisting with general facility upkeep, housekeeping support, and basic maintenance-related tasks to ensure the building remains clean, safe, organized, and presentable. This position supports daily facility operations and helps maintain a comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with general housekeeping and facility upkeep throughout the building.

• Maintain cleanliness in hallways, common areas, dining areas, and other designated spaces.

• Remove trash and ensure waste is disposed of properly.

• Assist with moving supplies, equipment, furniture, and other materials as needed.

• Help maintain clean, organized, and clutter-free work areas.

• Perform basic maintenance and general upkeep tasks as assigned.

• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.

• Follow established cleaning procedures and infection control protocols.

• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored safely and properly.

• Assist housekeeping and other departments with general tasks as needed.

• Follow facility safety policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, general maintenance, or a similar role preferred.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving supplies as needed.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable transportation.
