Job Description A day in this role

You start your morning mapping out routes across multiple commercial sites in Texas and a few company-owned locations. With a hands-on approach, you walk properties, check turf health, verify irrigation is running to spec, and confirm walkways and parking areas are clean and safe. You huddle with crews, align on priorities, and make real-time adjustments to mowing, edging, fertilization, weed control, and seasonal flower rotations. When an irrigation zone is underperforming, you diagnose the issue, coordinate repairs, and document the fix. Throughout the day, you monitor quality, coach team members, and make sure safety is front and center.

As vendors arrive for specialized services—tree trimming, mulch installation, or storm cleanup—you verify scope, oversee work, and review invoices against contract specs. You keep inventory tight, track maintenance records, and support budget targets without sacrificing curb appeal or safety. Before you wrap, you schedule the next round of work, log inspections, and prep for any evening or weather-driven needs.

What you’ll own

• Full oversight of landscape maintenance for multiple commercial properties in Texas and company-owned sites
• Regular site inspections to uphold appearance, safety, and quality standards
• Creation and execution of maintenance schedules: mowing, trimming, edging, irrigation, fertilization, weed control, and seasonal plantings
• Clean, safe exterior areas: grounds, parking lots, walkways, and common spaces
• Irrigation monitoring and coordination of timely repairs
• Seasonal projects: flower rotations, tree trimming, mulch installation, and post-storm cleanup
• Daily task assignment, performance monitoring, and coaching for crews and contractors
• Safety leadership: enforcing policies, OSHA and environmental compliance, safety meetings, and equipment inspections
• Accurate recordkeeping for incidents, repairs, and maintenance activities
• Budget support, inventory control, vendor coordination, and invoice review against contract requirements

What you bring

• High school diploma or GED (additional horticulture, landscaping, or facilities training preferred)
• 3–5 years of commercial landscape maintenance experience
• Supervisory or crew leadership background preferred
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, plant care, turf practices, and landscaping equipment
• Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Comfort managing multiple properties and shifting priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile communication apps
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Physical and work conditions

• Outdoor work in varied weather
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Safe operation of landscaping equipment and vehicles
• Primarily field-based across multiple commercial properties; occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency response during severe weather

Preferred skills

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience managing landscaping vendors and contracts
• Familiarity with irrigation scheduling systems and landscape management software
