JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of custodial tasks, and leads other custodians in assigned work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Dusts
• Mops Floors
• Vacuum Carpets
• Cleans Restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
• Locks doors after cleaning areas.
• Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the Shift Supervisor. Position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time while cleaning and/sanitizing work area. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of job. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes: Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Must pass a background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to lead and train.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
• Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
Other:
Valid Texas Drivers’ License Class C.
