Job Description
The Groundskeeper helps maintain clean, safe, and attractive grounds at an apartment community. This position supports the property management and maintenance teams by caring for outdoor areas, removing debris, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns. Responsibilities:
- Walk the property daily and remove litter from lawns, sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas.
- Maintain landscaping through mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and seasonal cleanup.
- Keep building entrances, outdoor amenities, and trash enclosure areas clean and orderly.
- Remove snow and apply ice melt to sidewalks, steps, and entrances as needed.
- Assist with moving trash containers and disposing of debris or abandoned items as directed.
- Report damaged equipment, exterior lighting issues, and other maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist the maintenance team with basic upkeep and apartment turnover tasks as assigned.
- Operate and store groundskeeping tools and equipment safely.
- Interact professionally with residents and visitors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, janitorial, or property maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying supplies.
- Familiarity with basic landscaping tools and safe equipment operation.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to assist with seasonal needs, including snow removal.
