HIRING IMMEDIATELY: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR IN ISLANDIA, NY

Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Ranging from $66,300 to $70,000/year
- Full Time Schedule

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and coordinates activities of the associates in the Maintenance Department
- Support the operations by assisting in the design and implementation of the work schedules for the Maintenance department
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer with the Maintenance Manager
- Assigns duties to workers and schedules break periods, work hours and vacations
- Schedules and performs periodic evaluations of Maintenance department employees as dictated by the appropriate HR policies
- Trains associates in warehouse policies, departmental procedures, and job duties
- Conducts regular inspections and ensures the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the facility
- Review and document of all inspections both internal and vendors which are required according to policies
- Keeping a record of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in the facility as well as reports of daily and weekly maintenance reporting
- Monitor all equipment to be operational and follow up on repairs
- Generate work orders for repairs made internal and approved vendors on Service Channel work order tracking software
- Monitor Service Channel for work order completion both internal and approved vendors repair
- Ensures that all mechanical units and systems in the facility are operating properly
- Prepares reports as needed by Admin and General Manager
- Ensures that all state, federal, and OSHA regulations pertaining to the warehouse are followed
- Generate Purchase Request / Purchase Orders for spare parts, repairs and equipment for replacement according to policies
- Overall responsibility for the management of good sanitation practices throughout the entire warehouse
- Oversee day-to-day operations of all MHE related equipment
- Monitoring all vendor contractual PM agreements
- Complete daily/weekly Task/repair status reports and filing accordingly using work order tracking software
- Schedule, communicate and coordinate repairs done by approved outside vendor contractors
- Working close with maintenance clerk and manager assisting in completing and staying up to date on all purchasing, invoicing and inspections
- Being assigned phone and work email and being a key role in emergency on/off hour facility needs
Requirements and Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a self-initiator who can implement and manage all operational programs as directed by Admin and the Maintenance Manager
- High level of computer and WMS system literacy
- Some college level training is preferred but not necessary so long as there is experience in warehouse supervision and some experience in the wholesale industry preferred
- Maintenance experience in a warehouse environment
- Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce
