Position Overview

Mason Technologies is seeking experienced Security Systems Installation Technicians to join our growing field team. We are looking for technicians with 4+ years of hands-on commercial security installation experience, with a strong background in CCTV/video surveillance, access control, electronic locking hardware, security panels, and low-voltage security wiring.

This is a hands-on physical installation position, not a desk-based security software or system administration role. The ideal candidate must be comfortable physically installing and wiring security devices, wiring doors, terminating field cabling, building and wiring security control panels, and troubleshooting systems in the field.

Candidates should have experience installing and working with CCTV cameras, card readers, door strikes, magnetic locks, door contacts, REX devices, access control panels, power supplies, relays, and other security hardware. Experience with major security platforms and manufacturers such as Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Kantech, Avigilon, HID, Bosch, Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, or comparable systems is highly valued. Security software experience alone is not sufficient for this position. Candidates must have demonstrated hands-on experience with the physical installation, wiring, termination, and troubleshooting of commercial security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, wire, test, and troubleshoot commercial security systems
  • Install and wire CCTV cameras, IP cameras, card readers, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, motion sensors, intercoms, and other security devices
  • Install and wire electric door strikes, magnetic locks, electrified exit devices, and other electronic locking hardware
  • Install, wire, and commission access control systems
  • Build, mount, wire, terminate, label, and organize security control panels and equipment enclosures
  • Perform point-to-point wiring from field devices back to security panels and head-end equipment
  • Terminate and troubleshoot power, data, control, and low-voltage security circuits
  • Install and support security system power supplies, batteries, relays, controllers, modules, and related equipment
  • Perform camera mounting, aiming, focusing, and basic configuration
  • Install and support access control hardware including readers, door position switches, REX devices, strikes, mag locks, and electrified hardware
  • Troubleshoot wiring, power, communication, device, and system-level issues
  • Read and interpret security drawings, riser diagrams, door schedules, wiring diagrams, schematics, and project documentation
  • Follow device addressing, labeling, wiring, and termination standards
  • Perform system testing and assist with commissioning and system turnover
  • Maintain accurate labeling, documentation, test results, and as-built information
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, electricians, construction teams, and other technicians
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Follow all company and job-site safety requirements
  • Travel between project sites throughout the Tri-State Area as required

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on commercial security installation experience preferred
  • Hands-on physical installation experience is required; security software/system administration experience alone is not sufficient
  • Strong experience installing and wiring CCTV/video surveillance and access control systems
  • Demonstrated experience physically installing and wiring:
  • CCTV / IP Cameras
  • Card Readers
  • Electric Door Strikes
  • Magnetic Locks
  • Electrified Exit Devices
  • Door Position Switches
  • Request-to-Exit (REX) Devices
  • Motion Sensors
  • Intercoms
  • Demonstrated ability to build, wire, terminate, label, and organize security control panels
  • Experience with security controllers, power supplies, batteries, relays, modules, and associated hardware
  • Experience with major security platforms and manufacturers such as Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Kantech, Avigilon, HID, Bosch, Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, or comparable systems
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting IP and analog CCTV systems
  • Familiarity with network-connected security devices and basic IP networking concepts
  • Ability to read and understand security drawings, riser diagrams, schematics, door schedules, and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools, test equipment, and low-voltage installation tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned installations
  • OSHA and SST certifications required
  • Reliable personal vehicle required
  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple job sites throughout the Tri-State Area
  • Ability to work safely on ladders, lifts, and in active construction environments
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
