Job Overview

The Opportunity
You will take full ownership of our estimating department, driving the growth and profitability of multi-million-dollar commercial projects. This role gives you the leadership autonomy to build bids from the ground up while actively shaping our commercial pipeline. You will join a collaborative environment where every team member shares directly in project success and company operations.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Build accurate estimates and budgets for multi-million-dollar retail and grocery projects without fully developed documents.
- Lead and manage the overall operations of the estimating department with supporting team members.
- Source potential and future commercial work by actively monitoring industry project boards.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals in strict accordance with Instructions to Bidders documents.
- Maintain complete bidding schedules, solicit qualified bidders, and establish detailed cost comparisons.
- Execute both hard bid and negotiated estimating strategies to secure profitable commercial contracts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Proven background as a Commercial Estimator specifically within retail and grocery construction.
- Demonstrated experience preparing budgets for both ground-up builds and renovation projects.
- Strong track record of successfully executing both hard bid and negotiated estimating processes.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage an estimating department independently.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of related work experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Science, or a related field.
