This hands-on leadership role oversees maintenance operations for a flexible slab polyurethane foam pour line in a manufacturing plant. The Foam Pour Line Maintenance Manager leads and develops the maintenance team while working directly on the production floor to troubleshoot equipment, respond to breakdowns, improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and drive overall equipment reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and provide daily direction to the maintenance team, ensuring clear priorities and effective execution of maintenance activities.
- Maintain a strong, regular presence on the production floor and work hands-on alongside maintenance employees when needed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain flexible polyurethane foam pour-line equipment and supporting systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Inspect and maintain metering systems, seals, valves, couplings, filters, pumps, and related components critical to foam production.
- Plan, develop, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and hazardous-material handling guidelines.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and industrial electrical issues on production and support equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot metering pumps, chemical transfer and dispensing systems, mix-head equipment, conveyors, and other foam-production machinery.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems to support continuous and reliable operation.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to support start-ups, major projects, and equipment modifications.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and coordinate repairs to restore production safely and efficiently.
- Support and improve maintenance documentation, work orders, and asset histories within the CMMS.
- Participate in and promote safety initiatives, including confined-space and working-at-heights practices where applicable.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on maintenance experience with flexible slab polyurethane foam pour-line equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance management, supervisory, or maintenance team leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting metering pumps, chemical transfer and dispensing systems, mix-head equipment, conveyors, and related foam-production equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment.
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with production equipment and control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge and practical application of OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to work safely with hazardous materials in a manufacturing setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with flexible slab polyurethane foam production beyond maintenance responsibilities is a plus.
- PLC programming and industrial automation experience is a plus.
- Welding, machining, and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Experience with continuous-process manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Forklift and scissor-lift training or certification is a plus.
- Confined-space and working-at-heights training is a plus.
- Fire alarm system experience is a plus.
- Ability to use and operate manufacturing machinery and equipment safely, including lifts and forklifts when trained or certified.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment in Asheboro, NC, with a high, daily presence required on the production floor. The role is strongly hands-on and involves working closely with maintenance employees around foam pour-line equipment, metering systems, pumps, conveyors, and other continuous-process machinery. Flexibility is required to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime to support major projects, equipment start-ups, or critical issues. The environment includes typical manufacturing conditions such as machinery noise, moving equipment, and areas where confined-space and working-at-heights procedures may apply, and requires adherence to all safety protocols and appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
