Sterling Engineering is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems, with a strong focus on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-based systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive industrial maintenance experience and be comfortable working independently to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Job Duties:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and pumps.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, timers, transformers, and controls.
- Diagnose and repair AC/DC electrical systems using schematics and electrical testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based equipment and applications.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, safety checks, equipment repairs, and facility modifications.
- Utilize CMMS systems to manage work orders, assets, and preventative/corrective maintenance activities.
- Assist with root cause and breakdown analysis to identify equipment issues and prevent recurring failures.
- Verify equipment guards and safety devices are operational before returning equipment to service.
- Follow plant safety procedures, safe work practices, and housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate in Industrial Electrical/Electronics, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, or equivalent higher education.
- 10+ years of experience working with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environment, or equivalent higher education.
- 3+ years of experience with electronic and PLC-based applications in an industrial environment.
- Experience using a CMMS system to manage work orders and equipment assets.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, utilities, alignment, and rigging preferred.
- Experience in TPM and Lean manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience with steel processing equipment such as slitters, cut-to-length lines, and shears is a plus.
- Experience maintaining and repairing forklifts and other mobile equipment is a plus.
