Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex production machinery and facility equipment. This position supports production goals by following established preventive and predictive maintenance processes while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule, perform, and document preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and equipment-related problems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
  • Troubleshoot equipment, complete repairs, replace defective parts, and test or adjust machinery as needed
  • Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs on production equipment
  • Install and maintain production machinery and facility equipment
  • Complete equipment upgrades, changeovers, and improvement projects that support production safety, capacity, and efficiency
  • Identify faulty equipment operations and defective materials and report findings to management
  • Coordinate and complete special projects as directed by plant management
  • Complete assignments accurately and within established deadlines
  • Address equipment and quality-control concerns according to company procedures
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all workplace safety guidelines
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to equipment and operating processes
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to support operational effectiveness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least four years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-service mindset
  • English proficiency preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred but not required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures, dust, odors, fumes, and moderate to loud noise levels. Required personal protective equipment must be worn when applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to reach, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to sit occasionally
  • Ability to safely work around production machinery and equipment

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Schedule may vary based on production and maintenance needs
  • No travel required
