Job Description

SUMMARY
Maintain all equipment in safe working conditions. Maintain documentation and records on safe work procedures for all equipment. Work with plant manager on production schedules so that all machines are ready prior to production needs. Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts to prevent unscheduled downtime. Oversee company employee and 3rd party contractors so that all safety measures are taken to prevent lost time and injury. Develop department budget with Plant Manager and monitor spending and effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Hire, develop and train maintenance personnel
Assist plant manager and supervisors with safety meetings
Insure all health and safety guidelines are followed
Insure all tanks and piping are labeled for content and purpose
Keep a detailed record of all maintenance performed on each piece of equipment
Maintain a clean working environment
Develop relationships with key contractors that work on Plant projects
Make decisions related to maintenance in the event the plant manager is absent or unavailable as governed by Plant Manager.
Help plan and execute capital improvements and projects
Looks for ways to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
Maintain operations so business can run at >98% OTIF
