Facilities Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team. The Facilities Manager oversees all aspects of facility operations within a welding and fabricating environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance of equipment, infrastructure, and workspaces. This role also manages programs related to internal audits, instrument calibrations, and safety compliance, supporting field service technicians, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Maintenance Management
- Oversee daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility, including buildings, utilities, HVAC, compressed air, and shop infrastructure.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for welding, fabricating, and support equipment.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements related to facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building, environmental, and safety regulations.
Audits & Calibrations
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive calibration schedule for gauges, pressure devices, torque tools, and measuring instruments used in fabrication and field service operations.
- Lead internal facility and safety audits to verify compliance with company procedures, ISO, or customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration certificates, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to support equipment qualification and verification activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Partner with the Safety Manager (or act as Safety Lead if applicable) to ensure all operations align with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Support employee safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Ensure fire suppression systems, emergency equipment, and safety devices are properly maintained and inspected.
Planning & Leadership
- Develop and manage the facilities maintenance budget, capital projects, and improvement initiatives.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and external contractors.
- Support sustainability and efficiency initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling, and energy optimization.
- Provide regular reports and updates to leadership on facility performance, compliance status, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities or maintenance management within a welding, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of welding/fabrication equipment, mechanical/electrical systems, calibration processes, and blueprints/schematics/diagrams.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and audit procedures.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- CFM (Certified Facility Manager), OSHA 30, or equivalent.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Calibration or Metrology training a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the facility, including production areas, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to welding, fabrication, and manufacturing environments requiring use of PPE.
