Position Summary
As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain and update the equipment of the site to ensure that routine checks, scheduled calibrations, and scheduled preventive maintenance tasks are completed as required. Basic checks and tasks are expected to be completed by the successful candidate. This role will schedule and interact with third parties to complete more complex maintenance and calibration activities. To effectively meet these objectives, you will be responsible for planning your work schedule based on the priorities of your work orders and calendar of routine tasks.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on simple equipment
· Perform single point calibration of basic complexity
· Schedule outside vendors as required to complete maintenance and calibration tasks
· Maintain accuracy of equipment and maintenance database records
· Perform simple to moderate repairs to malfunctioning equipment per work orders
· Perform routine inspection of equipment
· Support installation of new and existing equipment
· Occasionally operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
· Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations
· Assisting with Production Team as needed
· Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
· Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of relevant experience
· Or a Technical or Associate’s Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
· Prior experience with fermentation equipment is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· The ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed
· The ability to use basic hand and power tools
· The ability to work outside as needed
· The ability to effectively problem solve and knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and strong mechanical aptitude
· Knowledge of operating and repairing piping, welding various materials and sanitary and machinal knowledge on pumps and compressors
· Experience welding sanitary piping and other welding materials
· The ability to work effectively with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Must work well both independently and in a team environment, with the possibility of working some nights/after hours and weekends as the situation requires.
· The ability to effectively prioritize multiple different demands
· The ability to organize, store and track spare parts, maintenance materials, tools, etc. and keep an orderly work environment.
· Strong verbal and communication skills.
