Job Description

Job DescriptionHelp Us Elevate an Industry.
At Peak Property Management, we’re not here to blend in. We’re here to elevate an entire industry. We’re a small, driven team of ~40 (and growing quickly!) with a bold mission: to set a new standard for property management. And we know we’ll get there—but only with the right leaders on our team.
We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, and leads with excellence. If you’re ready to step into a pivotal leadership role and help build something extraordinary, this is your opportunity.
The Role
As a Portfolio Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of your portfolio and team. This role demands more than management—it requires vision, accountability, and the ability to inspire high performance.
You’ll take ownership of your portfolio's performance, turn KPIs into actionable strategies, and proactively coach your team to achieve results.
The Asset: This role requires intimate knowledge and understanding of operating multi-family properties, typically between 10-100 units. The assets are not on-site management and consist of scattered site buildings and various third-party Ownership entities.
Experience: We are looking for a strong team-first leader, someone who enjoys coaching, providing mentorship, and strives to get the players on their team better than they were yesterday.
This position is in charge of operating a team that operates multi-family properties in the Greater Richmond and Tri-Cities areas, communities we care about. It's all about the team and keeping them informed, trained, educated, ahead of the curve, motivated, and consistently improving. No egos here- regardless of your experience- we are focused on working together to win.
This is not a remote position. Your leadership, experience, knowledge, and teamwork is expected in office to strengthen and scale our multi-family team!
As a Portfolio Manager, you'll report directly to the VP of Operations. You'll be in a position overseeing our multi-family portfolio, and there are massive growth opportunities ahead for the right leader.
In the next 5-years, we envision being an industry leader operating in Virginia that impacts how companies across the Nation choose to do business. It is not solely a unit-count chase for us- we are winning by improving the experience and measuring impact and outcomes, not just checking the boxes.
Our goal is to find the person that is excited about this mission and vision and will commit to put in the effort, face the challenges, and accomplish something incredible as a housing provider for Virginia.
Responsibilities

  • Develop, coach, and empower teammates to perform at their peak and to advance within your team and/or the company. Develop future leaders.
  • Conduct routine trainings for individuals, positions, and your team as a whole
  • Identify areas of operational improvement and find solutions quickly
  • Handle escalations with professionalism and confidence
  • Monitor KPIs and proactively translate metrics into measurable outcomes
  • Review financial reports and execute strategies for portfolio growth
  • Ensure licensing, certifications, and training requirements are met for you and your team
  • Stay in tune with industry news and events so that your team remains on the leading edge
  • Exhibit Peak Property Management's core values at all times. (Immediate Responsiveness, Top Notch Communication, Prioritize Relationships, Own the Outcome)

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven professional leadership experience in third-party multi-family property management with strong portfolio oversight.
  • A decisive, solutions-oriented leader who thrives under pressure
  • Deep understanding of KPIs and financial reporting, with the ability to drive performance
  • Excellent communication skills and a focus on building strong relationships
  • Active real estate license or ability to obtain and maintain one

Compensation: Likely between $81,000-$92,500 per year based on leadership and PM experience. After 1-year, there's a strong possibility of adding profit-share. We offer excellent benefits!
Why Join Peak?
We’re not your typical property management company.

  • We are intentional and selective, focusing on quality relationships and exceptional results
  • We are building for impact - not just unit count.
  • We operate with a small, fierce, and ambitious team that values leadership and accountability
  • You won’t be micromanaged, but you will be expected to perform at the highest level every day
  • Champions want to be challenged and understand anything worth accomplishing is not easy. If you believe this, and want to make profound leaps in your real estate journey, this is the place to be.

This is more than a job. It’s a chance to help redefine an industry and grow with a company on track to become one of the best in the nation.
