- Identify scope gaps, potential change orders, and project risks.
Business Development & Sales
- Develop relationships with general contractors and preconstruction teams.
- Identify upcoming commercial TI, office, retail, industrial, and other mechanical projects.
- Proactively pursue bid invitations and new business opportunities.
- Follow up on submitted proposals and work to convert bids into awarded contracts.
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities, bid dates, follow-ups, and awarded work.
- Represent the company professionally in meetings, job walks, and client discussions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC estimating or mechanical contracting experience preferred.
- Ability to independently perform HVAC takeoffs and prepare complete estimates.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction drawings and specifications.
- Existing general contractor, estimator, or preconstruction relationships are a major plus.
- Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing estimating and business development activities with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Excel, PDF takeoff tools, and construction estimating software.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000–$110,000, depending on experience.
- Additional commissions tied to profitable awarded work.
- Performance-based bonuses of up to $3,000 during the first 90 days, based on agreed milestones.
- Hybrid/remote work arrangement with flexibility to work from home.
- Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel.
- Opportunity to help grow an established commercial HVAC contracting business and directly influence revenue.
