Job DescriptionSecurity Officer – Manufacturing FacilityPosition Summary
We are seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to help maintain the safety and security of a manufacturing facility, its employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and assets. The Security Officer will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, respond to security incidents and emergencies, enforce security procedures, and maintain accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- MSHA Site-Specific Processing: Ensure proper MSHA Site-Specific Part 46 processing and requirements are completed for all vendors, visitors, and contractors.
- Surveillance & Monitoring: Patrol the facility and surrounding premises, monitor security cameras, and conduct routine security checks to identify potential threats or unauthorized activity.
- Access Control: Monitor facility entrances and access points, verify credentials, and ensure employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors follow established entry procedures.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and other potential threats.
- Security Procedures: Enforce established security policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, access activity, and other required documentation. Prepare detailed incident reports when necessary.
- Collaboration: Work with law enforcement, emergency services, facility management, and other appropriate personnel when responding to incidents or security concerns.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential security risks and recommend improvements to security procedures, equipment, and facility practices.
- Training & Guidance: Provide employees with guidance regarding security protocols, access procedures, and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the facility.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field preferred.
- Current and valid Florida D-License required.
- Knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and surveillance systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during high-stress situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential security risks.
- Ability to regularly patrol the facility and remain physically active throughout the shift.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when necessary.
- Reliable attendance and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional security, law enforcement, military, or emergency-response certifications are a plus.
- Experience with CCTV/security camera systems and access-control systems preferred.
- Understanding of applicable local laws, regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to complete required MSHA Site-Specific Part 46 processing and training requirements.
