Location: Woodland Hills, CA – High School Campus
Schedule: As Needed / Variable Hours (Follows School Calendar)
Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Employment Type: Rover / As Needed – No Guaranteed Hours

Position Overview

Code 4 Private Security is seeking reliable and professional Rover School Security Officers to provide security coverage at a high school campus in Woodland Hills, CA, on an as-needed basis.

This position does not have a fixed schedule or guaranteed weekly hours. Shifts will be offered based on staffing needs, employee availability, and school requirements.

Our officers play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. We are looking for dependable individuals who are flexible with their availability and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Duties

Monitor and patrol school grounds to ensure safety and security.
Maintain a visible security presence and proactively deter incidents.
Respond to emergencies and assist school staff as needed.
Enforce school rules and campus Code of Conduct.
Write clear and detailed daily activity and incident reports.
Engage with students, staff, and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
Observe and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations.
Assist with controlling access to campus and monitoring visitor check-ins.
Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Schedule & Availability

This is an as-needed Rover position with no set schedule or guaranteed hours.
Shifts will be offered based on operational needs and available coverage opportunities.
Officers may be contacted to cover employee absences, call-offs, or open shifts.
Workdays and hours may vary depending on school staffing needs.
Work availability may be limited during school breaks, holidays, and other school closures.
Candidates must have flexible availability and be willing to accept shifts as needed.

Physical & Outdoor Working Conditions

This is primarily an outdoor position, rain or shine.
Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be comfortable performing frequent foot patrols throughout the school campus.
Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Valid California Guard Card.
Required BSIS training certificates to maintain Guard Card compliance, including Powers to Arrest with Appropriate Use of Force.
Criminal Background Check: Required and conducted by Code 4 Private Security. Candidates must complete the necessary background check consent forms.
TB Test Clearance: Required prior to reporting to the assigned school site.
SB 1626 School Security Training: Required. Training may be provided by Code 4 Private Security if not already completed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to work independently and follow site-specific instructions.
Flexibility to work varying shifts based on school coverage needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in a school security environment.
Experience as a crossing guard, patrol officer, or security officer.
Familiarity with school safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
Bilingual skills are a plus.

School-specific training will be provided.
