We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our client's growing team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will manage the financial reporting and accounting tasks for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance and preparation of financial statements for assigned properties.

• Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses tailored to meet client needs.

• Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate records and streamline reporting processes.

• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to address financial inquiries and discrepancies.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial documentation.

• Monitor and reconcile property accounts to maintain financial integrity.

• Implement advanced Excel formulas and functions to support data analysis and reporting.

• Manage profit-sharing calculations and other related financial allocations.

• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation when required.

• Minimum of two years of experience in general ledger accounting, including debit and credit transactions.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred; open to candidates with relevant experience and no degree.
• Strong proficiency in financial statement preparation and month-end close processes.
• Familiarity with property accounting practices and systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle sophisticated client interactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
