The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility. This position requires a proactive approach to safety, compliance, maintenance, and repairs. The technician is responsible for supporting production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate with a safety-first mindset, ensuring adherence to all safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, air compressor, painting, carpentry, and lighting systems.
  • Conduct preventive and scheduled maintenance, such as filter changes, inspections, and system checks, to ensure reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair facility equipment, utilities, and building systems.
  • Identify equipment failures or end-of-life performance and initiate replacement processes.
  • Request, evaluate, and organize vendor bids while ensuring contractors follow safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Monitor and respond to service calls and emergencies promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Recommend and manage spare parts, tools, and cross-referencing of orders to support cost savings and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain 5S standards in the shop, parts area, and facility grounds.
  • Assist with new equipment installations, facility upgrades, and distribution of incoming supplies/parts.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and wiring.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in preventive maintenance, carpentry, facilities, and cleaning.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pineville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
