Pay: 25–32+ per hour, based on experience, plus performance and annual bonus opportunities
Employment Type: Full-Time

The Opportunity
PBS Services LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Security Technician to lead commercial and industrial electronic security installations throughout Ohio and surrounding states. This is a hands-on opportunity for a technician who can independently install, program, troubleshoot, and commission access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and integrated low-voltage systems.
You'll work on commercial facilities and financial institutions—not routine residential service calls. You'll have access to company leadership, the autonomy to solve complex technical problems, and opportunities to lead projects and mentor developing technicians.
What You'll Do
- Install, program, troubleshoot, and commission commercial access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and intercom systems.
- Lead installation and retrofit projects from initial setup through final system testing.
- Configure IP-based security devices, networking components, and integrated systems.
- Diagnose technical issues using drawings, multimeters, software, and manufacturer resources.
- Read blueprints, riser diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Coordinate with project managers, electricians, contractors, and customer IT teams.
- Work independently or lead small field crews depending on project requirements.
- Document installations, equipment configurations, and service findings.
- Support and mentor junior technicians as the team expands.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of commercial electronic security or low-voltage field experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, and system commissioning.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and program electronic security systems.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, PoE, network switches, and IP-connected devices.
- Ability to read construction drawings and technical diagrams.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle eligibility requirements.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight assignments.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Pacom, Keyscan, Digital Watchdog, Hanwha, Axis, PDK, Honeywell, Bosch, or DMP.
- Manufacturer certifications in security, access control, or networking.
- Experience leading jobs or mentoring less-experienced technicians.
Compensation & Benefits
- 25–32+ hourly, depending on qualifications and leadership capabilities.
- Performance and annual bonus opportunities.
- Weekly pay and overtime opportunities.
- Medical insurance.
- Dental and vision reimbursement benefits.
- Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
- Company vehicle and company-paid project travel expenses.
- Company-paid lodging and travel per diem arrangements.
- Company-provided technology, safety equipment, and uniforms.
- Paid training and employee referral bonuses.
Travel & Schedule
Technicians travel directly to assigned project sites and are not required to report to the Dayton office every day. Work is primarily completed during normal business hours, although project schedules may require extended hours, overnight travel, or occasional nonstandard schedules.
Most overnight assignments are project-dependent and may involve several consecutive days away from home.
