Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Equipment
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of highly technical manufacturing equipment in a clean, temperature-controlled production environment. You will diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, support preventive maintenance programs, and help drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement across a multi-shift operation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on extrusion machinery, ovens, chillers, vacuum systems, cutters, winders, conveyors, and related production equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance according to established schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Install, maintain, and repair motors, sensors, drives, control systems, pumps, valves, and other industrial equipment.
- Support equipment setup, changeovers, and process improvements to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts documentation within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and downtime events.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams on equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, GMP requirements, and cleanroom protocols at all times.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment to support a safe and efficient workspace.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside normal hours as required to support a three-shift operation.
- Support facility maintenance, including HVAC, compressed air, water systems, and general building maintenance.
- Work with and manage relationships with contracted vendors to coordinate service and support.
- Follow all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements consistently.
- Perform preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance technician or similar manufacturing role.
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical issues on industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, written instructions, mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical tools used for maintenance and repair.
- Hands-on experience with extrusion machines, ovens, chillers, vacuum systems, cutters, winders, and conveyors.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems in a facility environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and using a CMMS or similar system to document work orders and maintenance activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, and vendors.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective time management.

- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with highly technical automated equipment.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and cleanroom protocols.
- Experience supporting equipment setup, changeovers, and process improvements.
- Experience in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Comfort working in a multi-shift operation and responding to emergency maintenance needs outside regular hours.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and spare parts records within a CMMS.

Work Environment
This position primarily operates on first shift within a three-shift manufacturing operation, and you must be available to respond to emergency situations outside standard hours when needed. The facility houses multiple state-of-the-art, highly automated extrusion machines and supports the production of medical and healthcare tubing in a clean, GMP-focused environment. The workplace is extremely clean and temperature controlled, with air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter, and the work is described as not strenuous. You will regularly use hand and electrical tools, work with industrial equipment such as extrusion lines, ovens, chillers, vacuum systems, cutters, winders, conveyors, and facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, and water systems, while following all safety and PPE requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $76960.00/yr.
