This role is a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician position working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with required work every other Saturday. You will troubleshoot, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and high-pressure boilers in a highly automated, state-of-the-art facility that is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. The work is approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical, with all electrical responsibilities being trainable for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
  • Install, repair, and maintain a variety of industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, and related systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and high-pressure boilers to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems as part of routine and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment repair and modification.
  • Use PLC troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve control system issues within automated equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and basic electrical maintenance on equipment and control systems, with training provided as needed.
  • Document maintenance activities and repair work to support accurate equipment histories and compliance with facility standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday) and participate in required work every other Saturday.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with industrial equipment, boilers, electrical systems, and tools.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic in an industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on conveyors, motors, and other industrial machinery.
  • Experience performing troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including diagnosing and repairing related system issues.
  • Ability to perform basic welding tasks to support equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Capability to perform PLC troubleshooting to identify issues in automated control systems.
  • Skill in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance on industrial equipment, with willingness to learn additional electrical tasks.
  • Comfort working in a role that is approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical.
  • Availability to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday) and every other Saturday as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Possession of at least a 2B boilers license is strongly preferred, though not strictly required.
  • Experience working with high-pressure boilers in an industrial setting.
  • Background in industrial maintenance repair, including both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC controls and industrial automation environments.
  • Experience in a clean, modern, or highly automated manufacturing or processing facility.

Work Environment

The role is based in a state-of-the-art facility built approximately four years ago, featuring a highly automated operation that is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled for year-round comfort. You will work primarily on industrial equipment and high-pressure boilers within a modern plant ranked among the top facilities nationwide. The schedule is 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with required work every other Saturday. The environment includes advanced industrial machinery, conveyors, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and PLC-controlled equipment, supported by a strong focus on safety and reliability.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cottage Grove, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
