Career Strategies is hiring a Leasing / Administrative Assistant to join a busy apartment community! We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service to residents, prospective residents, visitors, and vendors while assisting with the day-to-day leasing and administrative needs of the property.


The ideal candidate is outgoing, dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday 8AM - 5PM


Tax Credit, Section 8, HUD, or other affordable housing experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, prospective residents, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer incoming calls, take messages, and respond to leasing inquiries
  • Conduct follow-up calls with prospective residents
  • Tour the community, model units, and available apartments with prospects
  • Assist with leasing vacant apartments and the application process
  • Qualify prospective residents based on move-in date, household size, income requirements, budget, and other applicable criteria
  • Assist with Tax Credit, Section 8, HUD, and/or affordable housing documentation and compliance, when applicable
  • Maintain compliance with Fair Housing laws and community policies
  • Communicate with current residents and assist with resident relations
  • Submit and follow up on resident work orders
  • Coordinate with Property Managers, Assistant Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians, and Groundskeepers
  • Assist with data entry, filing, emailing, document preparation, and other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Tax Credit, Section 8, HUD, or affordable housing experience highly preferred
  • Previous apartment leasing or property management experience preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of customer service experience preferred
  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred
  • Strong phone and in-person communication skills
  • Experience with inbound and outbound calls
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-service focused
  • Ability to problem-solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the property management industry
