The Maintenance Technician works inside a clean automotive manufacturing plant, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. This role focuses on both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, identifying issues with parts and connections, and ensuring all maintenance activities follow established schedules and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production machines according to established schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on machinery to identify problems with parts, components, and connections.
  • Diagnose and repair machines, motors, and electrical components to restore proper operation.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance tasks on industrial equipment, including 3-phase systems and motor controls.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on machinery and components, including shafts and bearings.
  • Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in the manufacturing process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide installation, troubleshooting, and repair work.
  • Conduct maintenance repairs in an industrial environment while adhering to safety standards and best practices.
  • Document maintenance activities as required and follow maintenance schedules to ensure consistent equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to respond to equipment issues promptly and support continuous plant operations.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5+ years of experience troubleshooting machines, motors, and electrical components in an industrial environment.
  • 3–5+ years of experience performing electrical maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • 3–5+ years of experience performing mechanical maintenance on production machinery.
  • 3–5+ years of experience repairing machines and components as a maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to fix, install, or repair hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, shafts, and bearings.
  • Proficiency in industrial electrical troubleshooting, including working with 3-phase power systems.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance practices in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Background in industrial maintenance and maintenance repair within a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working as a maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic for 3–5+ years.
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing environments or other industrial production facilities.
  • Comfort working with a variety of industrial machinery, motors, and related components.
  • Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and safety.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean automotive manufacturing plant with an industrial maintenance setting. You will work directly on production machinery and equipment, handling both electrical and mechanical systems. The schedule typically ranges from 45 to 65 hours per week, including potential Sunday shifts, in a hands-on environment focused on safety, reliability, and continuous operation of the plant.

This is a Contract position based out of Talladega, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
