Employees in this job are responsible for machine area housekeeping, janitorial duties and light maintenance duties.
Essential Job Functions and Duties
To clean around all machine discharge areas on a daily basis.
To clean chips from guarding and wipe exterior of machines and guards when machines are unmanned or on repair on a monthly basis.
To assist in cleaning platforms around machines and machine areas.
To assist in cleaning up spills, putting down matting and pigs.
Painting of machines, preparing and performing the painting.
Clean and change filters.
To assist in maintaining fluid levels in machines.
Maintain and clean the chip processing equipment inside and outside on a daily basis.
Maintain and clean wastewater system on a daily basis.
To assist in maintenance functions when needed.
Job Specifications
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to get along with co-workers.
Must be able to effectively present information in one on one in small group situations to other employees and supervisors.
Ability to apply common sense, understanding, carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to solve on the job problems.
Ability to use brooms, mops, pressure washer, and other cleaning tools.
Must operate a forklift and maintain forklift license (renewal every 3 years).
Ability to run floor scrubber.
Ability to perform basic housekeeping functions plant wide.
Must wear all required PPE and follow safety and work rules.
