About the Role
We’re a professional cleaning company specializing in overnight restaurant cleaning. As we expand to the Chicago area, we’re hiring reliable Overnight Janitorial Staff to perform detailed deep-cleaning work in commercial kitchens and restaurant spaces. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who takes pride in doing thorough work, following procedures, and helping restaurants open clean and ready for service each morning.
Job is expected to begin as part-time and may transition to full-time based on client needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform overnight cleaning duties at restaurant and commercial kitchen client locations.
- Clean, scrub, degrease, and sanitize kitchen equipment, floors, walls, drains, stainless steel, restrooms, dining areas, and other assigned spaces.
- Follow company training, cleaning checklists, chemical procedures, mixing ratios, storage protocols, and safe-use methods.
- Use cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment safely and correctly, including PPE as required.
- Work efficiently to complete assigned scope within the overnight schedule.
- Report supply needs, equipment issues, safety concerns, or incomplete work to the supervisor or manager.
- Maintain a professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach at every client site.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial cleaning experience preferred; restaurant or kitchen cleaning experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to work overnight shifts consistently and arrive on time.
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, scrub, and handle cleaning equipment for the full shift.
- Comfortable working around grease, food-service equipment, drains, floors, and detailed kitchen cleaning tasks.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions, checklists, and safety procedures.
- Reliable transportation to client locations required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Background check and references required upon hiring.
A Standard Night:
You’ll arrive ready to work at your designated work location. All cleaning supplies and equipment will be ready for you on-site.
You’ll follow the nightly plan and training provided by the supervisor. You may help break down equipment, scrub what the day’s service left behind, and restore surfaces to inspection-ready condition. Fryers, ovens, grills, stainless, floors, walls, drains, and other assigned areas all get the attention they need to be spotless by morning.
You’ll work at a steady pace, communicate clearly with the team, and complete assigned tasks thoroughly and safely.
When the kitchen is cleaner than when you arrived and everything is ready for the opening shift, you help clean up, load out, and head home ready to do it again the next shift.
