MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II
Etna and East Liberty, PA
Full-Time | $21–$23 per hour | $2,000 Sign-On Bonus
Help maintain two supportive residential communities in the Etna and East Liberty areas of Pittsburgh.
We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Technician II who can organize work across two locations, respond to resident service requests, and complete repairs safely and professionally. Assignments between the communities will vary according to maintenance needs. Mileage is reimbursed for work-related travel between locations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and general building issues
- Complete resident work orders promptly and document repairs accurately
- Conduct property walks and identify maintenance or safety concerns
- Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment and systems
- Assist with move-in, move-out, and regulatory inspections
- Complete apartment turnovers within established deadlines
- Perform drywall repair, painting, cleaning, groundskeeping, and snow removal
- Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and the maintenance shop
- Coordinate specialized repairs with vendors and contractors
- Provide courteous service to residents, visitors, and team members
- Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You manage changing priorities without losing track of resident communication or follow-up. You know which repairs you can complete independently, when to ask for assistance, and when specialized service is needed.
SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL
- Monday through Friday during daylight hours
- Occasional weekends
- Rotating emergency on-call responsibilities
- Callback minimum for on-call responses
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required
- Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle required
- Mileage reimbursed for travel between assigned communities
- Ability to respond to assigned emergency calls within one hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of maintenance experience
OR
- One year of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing experience plus six months of related trade education
- General knowledge of apartment repairs, preventive maintenance, turnovers, and safety procedures
- Basic computer and electronic work-order skills
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance when needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $21–$23 per hour based on relevant experience and internal equity
- $2,000 sign-on bonus paid at designated intervals during the first year
