Gateway Group Personnel has been exclusively engaged by an established industrial manufacturer to identify an experienced Maintenance Manager for its Gadsden, Alabama facility.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader to take ownership of the maintenance function within a substantial manufacturing operation. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team and partner closely with Production, Safety and plant leadership to improve equipment reliability, support production requirements and maintain a safe, effective operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and coordinate the activities of the plant maintenance team.
- Plan and assign maintenance activities according to production schedules and operating priorities.
- Manage departmental operating, staffing, repair and maintenance costs within established budgets.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance priorities, repairs and installations with Production leadership.
- Develop and maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained safely, reliably and in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records for cranes, mobile equipment and other OSHA-regulated equipment.
- Analyze maintenance and repair projects and estimate associated costs and labor requirements.
- Assist and direct employees in dismantling, assembling, repairing and installing industrial machinery.
- Troubleshoot operating and maintenance issues and work with employees to develop practical solutions.
- Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance and product quality.
- Establish and continuously improve maintenance procedures, systems and records.
- Develop maintenance employees through coaching, performance management and skills training.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading an industrial maintenance function and maintenance personnel.
- Strong practical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Safety and other plant leadership functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant maintenance experience will be considered.
Compensation $110,000–$120,000 base salary + 10% annual incentive opportunity This is an on-site position in Gadsden, Alabama.
