COMPANY OVERVIEW
Kuukpik Corporation was established in 1973 under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). It owns the surface rights to portions of the Colville River Delta, located 50 miles west of Prudhoe Bay.
Kuukpik Corporation successfully negotiated a comprehensive surface-use agreement. This agreement established provisions for education and training, preferences in contracting, employment, and environmental protection for the village of Nuiqsut.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The Custodian provides quality custodial services to the Kuukpik Corporation's Nuiqsut office. The Custodian performs their duties under the direction of the General Manager of the Nuiqsut Office, ensuring that office spaces are clean, well-maintained, and safe for all employees and visitors. The role of the Custodian is critical in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for the Nuiqsut Kuukpik Corporation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building
- Cleans and sanitizes the restrooms and break room
- Sweep, mop, dust, empty trash, and wash dishes
- Washes windows
- Operate mechanical cleaning equipment, including vacuum, mop bucket, etc.
- Notify management of unsafe office conditions, needed repairs, or maintenance equipment
- Remove snow and ice from steps for safety purposes at the Kuukpik building
- Submit orders for cleaning supplies and materials; supply restock
- All other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to keep the school clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of standing.- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
