Position Summary

A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Multicraft Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and plant operations. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing equipment failures, completing repairs, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and helping minimize production downtime.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting a combination of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing systems. This position works closely with production, engineering, quality, and other plant departments to maintain reliable equipment performance and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot production equipment failures and complete corrective repairs in a timely manner.
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant systems.
- Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment breakdowns during production.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Make adjustments to automated production equipment and process parameters as necessary to maintain product quality and equipment performance.
- Support equipment such as industrial robots, welding systems, presses, material-handling equipment, adhesive/application systems, and other automated machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders.
- Assist with equipment installation, modification, startup, and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance activities through the facility's computerized maintenance/work-order system.
- Monitor critical spare parts and communicate replenishment needs to support equipment availability.
- Communicate equipment conditions, repair status, and production-impacting issues to supervisors and appropriate departments.
- Work collaboratively with production and quality personnel regarding equipment concerns and corrective actions.
- Maintain tools, maintenance equipment, and assigned company property in safe operating condition.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and clean work area.
- Follow all company safety, environmental, PPE, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement, reliability, and equipment optimization initiatives.
- Maintain required technical training and stay current with equipment and technologies used within the facility.
- Perform additional maintenance-related responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience
\n

- Associate degree or advanced technical training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical systems, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, or a related field preferred.
- Completion of a recognized skilled-trades apprenticeship or possession of a relevant Journeyman credential may be considered in place of a degree.
- Previous industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment required.
- Experience working across multiple maintenance disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, strongly preferred.

Technical Skills
\n

- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
- Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and controls systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and industrial robotics is highly desirable.
- Basic welding and fabrication capabilities, including experience with MIG, TIG, ARC, and/or resistance welding, preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or ERP-based maintenance systems.
- Experience with SAP maintenance/work-order functions is a plus.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
