The Green at Chevy Chase is seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in Buffalo Grove, IL.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot maintenance issues independently, and understands the importance of providing excellent service to residents.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced apartment community offering a great work environment and a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including faucets, toilets, drains, leaks, and water heaters.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues involving outlets, switches, lighting, and fixtures.
• Perform HVAC troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs.
• Complete apartment turnover repairs and prepare vacant units for new residents.
• Repair and replace appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, and garbage disposals.
• Perform general carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, and hardware replacement.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on building equipment and mechanical systems.
• Maintain the property's common areas, grounds, and exterior facilities.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and assist with seasonal property maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally with residents, management, and fellow team members.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance, building maintenance, or related trades experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders.
• Experience with apartment turnovers and preventative maintenance is a plus.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physical maintenance duties, including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working on your feet.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• EPA 608 certification is a plus.
