Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Security Technician with experience in new construction pre-wire and finish-out for commercial and residential security systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and servicing low-voltage systems including CCTV, intrusion alarm, access control, and fire alarm systems. This position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high-quality workmanship and professionalism on job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-wire installation for new construction projects including:

- Security systems
- CCTV/video surveillance systems
- Access control systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, coax, and composite cable
- Complete trim-out and finish installation of devices such as:

- Cameras
- Motion detectors
- Door contacts
- Keypads
- Card readers
- Door hardware
- Fire alarm devices
- Mount and install control panels, power supplies, network equipment, and related hardware
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair system issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
- Ensure installations comply with NEC, NFPA, local codes, and company standards
- Coordinate with builders, contractors, and other trades on-site
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed
- Provide professional customer service and system walkthroughs when needed
Required Qualifications
- Experience with new construction low-voltage pre-wire and finish-out
- Knowledge of CCTV and security system installation
- Experience with access control systems
- Basic understanding of fire alarm systems and wiring methods
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work on ladders and lift equipment up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial and residential installations
- Networking knowledge including IP addressing and PoE systems
- Fire alarm certification or licensing
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
