Director of Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Director of Maintenance to join our team at Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. As a leader in our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents, employees, and visitors by overseeing maintenance staff and performing various maintenance and repair tasks. Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required

• At least 2 years of building maintenance experience, required

• Valid NYS Driver's License, required

• Working knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) regulations preferred

• Working knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and mechanical procedures required

• Mechanical HVAC knowledge required

• Prior supervisory and leadership experience preferred

• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable

• Strong customer service skills and compassion

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise the maintenance staff to ensure a safe and comfortable facility that meets the needs of our residents, employees, and visitors

• Perform a variety of general, preventative, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs in the buildings and on the grounds

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of the facility

• Maintain the grounds, facilities, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner

• Responsible for snow and ice removal. Maintain walk areas and sidewalks in a safe manner

• Familiar with main utilities shutoffs and all alarm systems

• Able to lift, push, and pull over 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, reach, handle, climb, hear, talk, see and be able to move intermittently during working hours

• Work in all areas inside and outside of the facility, including cramped areas

Additional Responsibilities:

• Follows established safety procedures and OSHA requirements when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies

• Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are stored properly before leaving the area or at the end of the day

• Follows established fire and safety procedures

• Respects resident's rights and dignity, follows nursing home policies and procedures, and reports any suspected resident abuse as required by government regulations and the nursing home policies

• Responsible to respond to all calls in a timely manner

• Attend all required in-services and seminars

• Perform any other work duties as assigned by Administration
