About the Role:
Penkert Properties, Ltd. is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Central WI! We will also expect to travel 80% of your week across the state to Wausau, Marshfield, Merrill, Eau Claire, Tomah, Fond du Lac, to name a few locations. In this hands-on role, you'll play a vital part in keeping our apartment communities safe, functional, and a place residents are proud to call home.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance across multifamily apartment communities for the whole region
- Diagnose and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances
- Complete unit turns, including painting, patching, and general repairs to prepare units for new residents
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and work orders
- Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exteriors to company standards
- Inspect units and property regularly to identify and address potential issues proactively
- Coordinate with property management on maintenance priorities and vendor scheduling
Requirements:
- 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily or residential property management
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry
- HVAC/EPA 608 certification is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work orders efficiently
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when working with residents
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions
