Job Summary Security Service Systems (SSS) is seeking a dependable and professional Patrol Officer to provide mobile security services to residential communities and customers. The Patrol Officer will operate a company patrol vehicle and respond to a variety of security-related calls while maintaining a visible security presence throughout assigned patrol areas.
Responsibilities

  • Operate a company patrol vehicle safely and professionally while conducting routine patrols.
  • Respond promptly to residential alarm calls and investigate the cause of the alarm.
  • Provide vacation watch services, including scheduled property checks and reporting any unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to requests involving trespassing, loitering, transient activity, suspicious persons, and other security concerns.
  • Assist residents and customers with security-related concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned neighborhoods, residential properties, and designated areas.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, property damage, open doors or gates, and other unusual conditions.
  • Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency services when circumstances require their assistance.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and document all significant activity during the shift.
  • Maintain professional communication with dispatch, supervisors, residents, and customers.
  • Follow all SSS policies, procedures, post orders, and vehicle safety requirements.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the assigned patrol vehicle.
  • Remain alert and attentive throughout the entire shift.

Qualifications

  • Valid California Guard Card.
  • Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a company patrol vehicle.
  • Professional appearance and good communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Previous security, patrol, military, or law-enforcement experience is preferred but not required.

Physical and Work Requirements

The position requires working independently, driving for extended periods, conducting property and neighborhood patrols, and occasionally standing or walking for extended periods. The officer must be able to respond appropriately to changing situations while maintaining personal safety and following SSS procedures.

Position Expectations

The Patrol Officer represents Security Service Systems while on duty and is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, alertness, and reliability. Officers are expected to use good judgment, de-escalate situations when appropriate, and request assistance from law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.

This position is an important part of providing our customers with a visible, responsive, and professional security presence.
