About the Position

We’re seeking experienced Security Installation Technicians to join our team for on-site work across NYC, New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester. Applicants must be located in these areas. We’re especially interested in candidates with hands-on experience in security system installation and structured cabling, who can work independently and maintain high-quality standards on fast-paced job sites.


Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain security systems, including:
  • Access control systems (keycard readers, biometric readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks)
  • Alarm systems (intrusion alarms, motion detectors, panic buttons)
  • Surveillance camera systems (CCTV/IP cameras, PTZ cameras, NVR/DVR setup)
  • Intercom and door entry systems integrated with security networks
  • Perform structured cabling tasks necessary for security systems, including running, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cables.
  • Program and configure security hardware and software, including access permissions, alarm zones, camera recording schedules, and system alerts
  • Troubleshoot and repair security system issues, including malfunctioning cameras, alarms, door access failures, and network connectivity problems.
  • Survey job sites to determine optimal placement of security devices, cable runs, and equipment racks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system installation and integration.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on installed security systems, including system testing, firmware updates, and hardware inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, ensuring all work meets company standards, project specifications, and safety compliance requirements.
  • Document daily work progress, including installations, configurations, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, team members, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Travel to job sites throughout NYC, NJ, Long Island, and Westchester as required.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in security system installation and/or structured cabling.
  • Proven experience with access control, intrusion alarms, and surveillance systems.
  • Ability to run, terminate, and test network cables (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A).
  • Experience programming and configuring security systems and software.
  • Comfortable lifting 50+ pounds and performing tasks involving bending, crouching, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites.
  • Valid SST (Site Safety Training) card — physical card required; upload a clear photo with resume.
  • Must provide and use own hand tools appropriate for the job.
  • Knowledge of job site safety compliance standards.
