Job DescriptionJob Title: Custodial Worker Job Summary
The Custodial Worker is responsible for performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, and general maintenance duties to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. This role includes indoor and outdoor custodial tasks across various areas such as offices, public spaces, restrooms, entryways, and other assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain designated areas including offices, lounges, restrooms, stairwells, hallways, libraries, and holding cells.
- Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing.
- Sanitize high-touch and high-use areas, including sinks, toilets, counters, showers, water fountains, and medical spaces.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, baseboards, handles, and other surfaces as required.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other custodial products.
- Remove trash and debris from both indoor and outdoor areas and properly dispose of waste.
- Secure buildings by locking doors and windows during or after cleaning, as required.
- Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report low or depleted stock.
- May assist with basic landscaping duties such as mowing lawns and trimming shrubs using hand or power tools.
- Participate in general clean-up, material handling, and light maintenance tasks.
- Follow established safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of custodial, janitorial, commercial cleaning, or related experience required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive/deep background screening.
- Must have consistently reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks.
Schedule & Pay
Pay Rate: $16.26 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
