This role focuses on performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of industrial equipment in a large manufacturing environment. You will work with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in support of production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment according to instructions provided with work orders and direction from the group leader.
  • Inspect, clean, and service equipment components to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Repair equipment by cleaning, replacing defective parts, motors, and related components in accordance with work orders.
  • Install, test, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools, equipment, and fixtures as specified in work orders.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on equipment such as pumps, punch presses, press brakes, fin presses, turret presses, and rivet guns.
  • Use PLC troubleshooting techniques and tools to identify and resolve control system issues.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with the group leader and other team members to prioritize work orders and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Use mathematics and measurement skills to verify proper alignment, fit, and function of components during installation and repair.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending maintenance or equipment improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems and components.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, including installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatics, including installation, maintenance, and repair of pneumatic systems.
  • Basic industrial electrical knowledge, including safe work practices when working with electrical equipment and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and PLC troubleshooting methods.
  • Proficiency in mathematics to support measurement, alignment, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment such as pumps, punch presses, press brakes, fin presses, turret presses, and rivet guns.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and technical guidance from leadership.
  • Capability to stand and walk for long periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds (non-repetitive).
  • Ability to work safely in a large, non-temperature-controlled plant environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fin press operation is a plus.
  • Experience working with older industrial equipment and legacy systems, including RSLogix, is beneficial.
  • Very good mechanical aptitude with a strong focus on reliability and equipment uptime.
  • Comfort working with a mix of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a production setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large plant environment with non-temperature-controlled conditions, meaning temperatures may vary with the seasons. The facility uses a mix of older equipment and control systems, including RSLogix, providing exposure to a range of legacy and modern technologies. The role is physically active and requires standing and walking for long periods, occasional stooping, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a non-repetitive basis. You will work around mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment in an industrial setting, following safety procedures and using appropriate tools and protective equipment as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grenada, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.56 - $24.56/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
