Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
A sophisticated Los Angeles real estate practice is seeking a mid-level associate to work on complex commercial transactions for developers, investors, owners, lenders, and other market participants. The practice handles acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, development, and leasing across a range of asset classes. Associates receive meaningful responsibility for transactions and direct exposure to clients rather than being limited to narrow diligence or document-production roles. You will have the opportunity to manage significant portions of deals from initial structuring through closing. Compensation ranges from $200,000-$325,000, depending on experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Represent developers, investors, owners, lenders, and other clients in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions
- Handle acquisitions and dispositions from initial due diligence and contract negotiation through closing
- Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, joint venture agreements, and related transaction documents
- Support real estate financing, development, redevelopment, and investment transactions
- Coordinate title, survey, zoning, diligence, financing, and other transaction workstreams
- Communicate directly with clients and take increasing responsibility for negotiations and overall transaction management
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the California Bar
- 3–7 years of commercial real estate transactional experience at a law firm
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, joint ventures, or development matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and transaction-management skills
- Experience independently managing meaningful portions of commercial real estate transactions preferred
- Ability to handle multiple sophisticated transactions while communicating effectively with clients and senior attorneys
WHAT WE OFFER
A strong platform for real estate attorneys who want broader deal exposure and a faster path toward running transactions themselves. The role combines $200,000-$325,000 in annual compensation with hybrid flexibility, sophisticated Southern California real estate work, direct client relationships, partner mentorship, and increasing deal ownership. Associates can develop the technical range and commercial judgment needed to become complete real estate lawyers rather than remaining confined to one piece of the transaction.
