Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support the successful execution of construction projects by overseeing daily field operations related to civil and architectural work. This full-time, on-site role involves coordinating subcontractors, monitoring project progress, maintaining quality and safety standards, and assisting with project documentation and scheduling.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing field activities while collaborating with project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily field activities related to roofing and architectural finish work, reporting progress to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and MEP trades to identify and resolve field conflicts and construction interferences.
  • Assist with short-term project scheduling, including daily work planning and look-ahead schedules.
  • Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and follow up on assigned action items.
  • Maintain field documentation, including:
    • Daily reports
    • Site photographs
    • Manpower tracking
    • Field issue logs
    • Requests for Information (RFIs)
    • Submittals
    • Material tracking and follow-up
  • Support quality control by verifying completed work against project drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the site safety team to help maintain compliance with company safety policies and job-site regulations.
  • Communicate project updates and field issues to project leadership in a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and ensuring work is completed according to established timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience in civil or architectural construction.
  • Experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating with MEP trades and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and project documentation processes.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, and field reporting.
  • Familiarity with quality control and construction safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting the project management team.
