Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Supports the Property Manager with leasing, resident communication, rent collection, administrative operations, file documentation, compliance support, and day-to-day resident service at a public or affordable housing property.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support leasing and occupancy activities by responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, processing documentation, maintaining waitlist and applicant records, and assisting with move-in and move-out procedures.

  • Assist with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, payment arrangements within delegated authority, notices, ledger questions, and coordination with Accounting and the Property Manager.

  • Maintain accurate resident and property records, correspondence, reports, work-order follow-up, inspection documentation, and other administrative files in accordance with Company and program requirements.

  • Provide professional resident customer service, receive and document concerns, coordinate service requests, assist with meetings and notices, and escalate sensitive or unresolved issues appropriately.

  • Provide operational coverage for the Property Manager as assigned and assist with inspections, recertification support, vendor coordination, office organization, and property reporting.

Additional Duties: Performs other duties, special projects, coverage assignments, and responsibilities as needed or assigned to support property, resident, client, and organizational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, real estate, housing, public administration, or a related field.

  • Must hold a rent certification credential or be willing and able to obtain the required certification within two weeks of employment.

  • Two or more years of experience in property management, leasing, housing, resident services, collections, or administrative support.

  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing, resident confidentiality, leasing documentation, customer-service practices, and basic rent and ledger administration.

  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft 365, Yardi or comparable property-management software, email, data entry, and electronic file systems.

  • Strong customer-service, communication, organizational, documentation, accuracy, and conflict-resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, housing, public administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in public, affordable, subsidized, LIHTC, HUD-assisted, or voucher-supported housing.

  • Affordable-housing, leasing, or property-management certification such as CAM, COS, TCS, HCCP, or a comparable credential.

  • Experience with leasing, recertifications, inspections, rent collection, resident files, and property-level reporting.

  • Experience using Yardi or a comparable affordable-housing property-management system.
