Job Description
- Manage accounting, financial analysis, and reporting activities for a portfolio of real estate entities and assets.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes are accurate, timely, and professionally prepared.
- Review and approve financial workpapers, bank reconciliations, escalation billings, budgets, analyses, and GAAP reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of property accountants and support their professional development.
- Partner closely with property management, leasing, construction, asset management, and other internal teams.
- Play a key role in the annual budgeting process and monthly financial reporting for senior management.
- Help enforce internal controls, identify process or procedural gaps, and implement effective improvements.
- Support and improve the use of property management and accounting systems, including Yardi and MRI.
- Provide hands-on accounting support during periods of high volume, deadlines, team transitions, or employee absences.
- Lead special projects and contribute to department-wide initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with monthly close, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Yardi and MRI experience is preferred.
- CPA is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
