Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Maintenance Group Leader will be responsible for leading a group of skilled, hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes. This position requires the ongoing application and enforcement of the National and Local UAW Agreements. Candidates must possess technical expertise to oversee and support maintenance operations, exercising independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE)Job Responsibilities:Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary adjustments to operations as requiredManage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesDrive accountability through people and processes which may require difficult conversationsConduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of resultsProactively offers solutions to operational or technical issuesPerform preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctionsMaintains productivity and quality in line with organizational standardsImplement divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practicesMaintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work groupSupervises the efficient use of labor, inventory, and machineryEstablish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or projectSpecific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may not be climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)Possess good physical stamina and coordination to frequently and repetitively:Bend, twist, kneel, crouch and reach to perform workLift or carry materials weighing up to 15 lbs. and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.Walk and stand for prolonged periods of timeOccasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipmentRead standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspectionsPromptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signalsWear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoesRequired Qualifications:One year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leaderExperience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprintsExperience solving complex problems and working in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict and decision makingExperience managing, leading people, and addressing performance concernsDemonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problemsBasic computer proficiency (i.e., Microsoft Word, typing, email, etc.)Must be willing to work rotating shiftsMust be available and willing to regularly work weekends to meet production demands, including approximately two weekends per monthHigh School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:Strong critical thinking and analytical skillsExperience working on multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to ask questions, take initiative and be resourcefulHigh level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, self-directedExperience collaborating across multiple functions within a manufacturing settingShift work will be working 2nd (2pm to 10:30pm) or 3rd (10pm to 6:30)
