Role Description
Diesel Tek HD LLC is seeking Field Systems Engineers / Technicians for nationwide technology deployment projects.
This is a hands-on field position involving the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of technology systems at customer locations throughout the United States.
Projects may involve fleet telematics, GPS/IoT devices, cellular gateways, dash cameras, networking equipment, vehicle electronics, communications systems, and other connected technologies.
Responsibilities include installing and integrating hardware, routing and connecting wiring, configuring connected devices, testing system functionality, diagnosing electrical/network/connectivity issues, following technical documentation and wiring diagrams, and documenting completed work.
Nationwide travel may be required. Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.
Qualifications
- Background in IT, networking, electronics, telecommunications, engineering, field service, low-voltage, automotive electrical, or related technical work
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with hardware, wiring, cabling, and connected devices
- Ability to follow technical documentation, schematics, and installation procedures
- Experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Networking, Ethernet, cellular, GPS, IoT, or telematics knowledge is a plus
- 12V electrical and digital multimeter experience is a plus
- Experience with cameras, sensors, gateways, or other connected hardware is a plus
- Ability to work independently at customer locations
- Professional communication and documentation skills
- Ability and willingness to travel for project assignments
- Ability to learn unfamiliar hardware and software systems quickly
