Role Description The Maintenance Technician II is a full-time, on-site role located at Reading Hospital – Tower Health in Reading, PA. This role is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient hospital operations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting inspections, identifying issues, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, and completing repairs in accordance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Technician II also performs preventive maintenance, documents work performed, coordinates with other facilities staff and departments, and responds to service requests and emergencies in a timely manner. The role may involve working with tools, diagnostic equipment, and computerized maintenance management systems, as well as rotating shifts or on-call coverage aligned with hospital needs.\n

- Candidates should possess strong skills in equipment maintenance and maintenance & repair of building and facility systems.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting and industrial maintenance skills for mechanical, electrical, and related components.
- Candidates should possess preventive maintenance skills to proactively inspect, service, and optimize equipment performance.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, commercial, or industrial environment is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and best practices in facilities maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders, and to use hand and power tools safely.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams are important.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is advantageous.
- Certification or licensure in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
