Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant facilities. You will be responsible for initiating equipment tooling requirements for new products, and you will have an advanced understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Your expertise will be essential in installing, checking, adjusting, and troubleshooting machinery repairs, conveyors, and other equipment required for plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Initiate line/equipment tooling requirements to support new products.
- Possess advanced understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems in the plant.
- Install, check, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair machinery, conveyors, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Develop skills to meet required change over standards as determined by OEE studies.
- Complete set-up of all filling and assembly equipment.
- Maintain material usage to keep scrap levels at or below allowable standards.
- Change and adjust process equipment, including filling heads, cappers, torque check weighers, labelers, pumps, and ancillary equipment.
- Load components into hoppers or bins during initial startup and assist line service as needed.
- Respond to job assignments plant-wide.
- Inspect and make repairs to maintain preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain required records such as major maintenance, PM, and IQOQPQ.
- Operate all shop equipment, except the CNC.
- Make adjustments/repairs in electrical panels according to electrical Safe Practices for Mechanics.
- Comply with company policies regarding GMP, good housekeeping, and safety regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- 3 - 5 years of experience is required.
- Ability to read and work from detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Good working knowledge of plant equipment and systems.
- Basic applicable computer skills.
- Minimum score of 46.64 on the Standard Timing Model Test.
- Ability to train other technicians.
- Operation of power shop tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Must provide own hand tools as required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and manipulate bulk drums weighing up to 400 pounds.
- Able to push and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps.
- Must meet vision and hearing requirements.

Work Environment
You will work in a climate-controlled, very clean, and highly automated environment. Current openings are available for 2nd and 3rd shifts, with a 30-60 day training period on the 1st shift. The shifts are structured as follows: 2nd shift from 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM, and 3rd shift from 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxford, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
