Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves performing mechanical repairs within a designated area of the plant and supporting maintenance and repair needs across the entire facility. You will work on machinery such as powder metal presses, heat treat furnaces, CNC machinery, and conveyor belts.
Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot and complete corrective mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Determine if machine parts can be repaired or need replacement.
- Correct maintenance problems in all plant areas autonomously.
- Prepare requisitions for spare and repair parts for presentation to department heads.
- Assist and advise outside contractors on project work.
- Plan and implement preventative maintenance program assignments.
- Collaborate with Engineering and other support groups as required.
- Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
- Assist and train operators as needed.
- Conduct periodic maintenance on machines.
- Participate in team problem-solving for continuous improvement processes.
- Use various testing devices and chemicals as per guidelines.
- Perform material handling using equipment like forklifts.
- Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
- Wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ensure professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, and tools.
- Adhere to the BN Quality Policy and take pride in the products produced.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical system troubleshooting and repair.
- Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, including complete system rebuilds.
- Electrical system troubleshooting and repair (PLC, I/Os, rewiring 3-phase motors, VFDs, Servos).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- MIG welding.
- Fabrication using ship equipment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
