About Us: Transition Management ('TMC') is recognized for delivering industry-leading Labor Provision and Project Management Services at some of the most renowned resorts across the United States. TMC has a rich history of providing its services at iconic locations such as The Baccarat Hotel and Residences in New York City. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to partner with our engineering team at a client location.

Position Title: Overnight Watch Engineer

Reports To: Chief Engineer

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Responsibilities

  • Repair miscellaneous gas, electric, and steam appliances.
  • Keep all shop machinery clean and neat at all times.
  • Must have basic knowledge of power tools.
  • Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
  • Monitor and inspect boiler equipment, valves, gauges, etc.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; and report safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  • Perform small to medium size repairs on mechanical piping and equipment including but not limited to relief valves, safety valves, and miscellaneous fittings.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Requirements:

  • Resort/Hospitality experience preferred
  • Q1 License a Must
  • FSD License a Must
  • Possesses general repair skills such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical, and other general repair skills
  • Displays skill in the safe use of hand and power tools, along with other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
  • Works well within a variety of situations
  • Solves problems using facts and professional judgment
  • Reacts quickly and decisively in emergencies that may involve valuable equipment or the safety of others
  • Works well within a diverse team in the execution of duties
  • Able to prioritize and change from one activity to another easily
  • Be available on nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be well-groomed and in proper uniform while on duty

**Some of the duties of this position may change based on the business's needs.**

Physical Demands

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires moving, standing to a significant degree, reaching, ascending, handling, feeling, communicating, conversing, exchanging information, and identifying and observing.

Hourly rate $33—$36 USD
